An innovative lacing conforms to the foot via a inner sheath before connecting with the upper over the bridge of the foot, providing even distribution without pressure points. A customized soft collar of memory foam ensures comfortable hold around the heel and ankles.
The Cloudcruiser offers the ideal level of stability for long-distance runners or high-impact runners who want to build endurance on and off the road. For runners who just want a bit more “shoe” on their foot but without the extra weight. It strikes the right balance between protection and lightweight.

The Cloudcruiser offers outstanding impact protection and takes full advantage of the patented CloudTec® system with 15 high-profile “Cloud” elements and a flexible midsole giving you both a cushioned landing and a powerful takeoff. All this, so you can run as hard as you like.
“We wanted to create a running shoe that combines great comfort and protection in a light package”, explains Co-Founder and 6-time Ironman Champion Olivier Bernhard. “We have developed high-impact outsole elements, a flexible Speedboard in the midsole and a progressive lacing system to bring the very best of On’s technology to the Cloudcruiser.”
Even as a stability running shoe, it helps the foot find its own natural running style. The responsive midsole, with its flexible Speedboard, has been uniquely tuned to provide a natural rolling motion. It even forgives the occasional misstep – both on and offroad.
I purchased these cruisers a week prior to the HOKA highland fling ultra race 53miles first half of the west highland way.
This was really an emergency buy as my other trainers I was currently breaking in for the event were no good for me at all so had to make a decision to find a new pair.
After already owning a pair of clouds for my road running I knew where to look. I spotted the cruisers for longer and more stability so couple of clicks and they were bought.
They arrived 5 days prior to the big event and I was slightly worried about only having got 15 miles in them
But sure to be I ran finished the 53mile race over 6500ft of climbing and trail running 90% trail 10% road I was amazed to how these cruisers were perfect.
There were no hot spots not one blister and the cruiser gave total control throughout the whole race I was amazed.
The only thing I could pick up on was the sole of the shoe as the same goes for the clouds too, to many stones get caught up in the sole and this can be quite irritating but don't let this out you off buying them I won't be shopping else where Ons for me Ons are the future excellent bit of kit.
Went on my first run with my new shoes. They were extremely comfortable, but I have to admit I didn't get the lacing tight enough. A lot of the leg issues I was having with my other running shoes are not present tonight after my run in these shoes.
Looking forward to many, many miles with them!
I want to start a bit of my history, I was in the military and I used to run all the time because I had to. I left the military and stopped running about 3 years ago, I've always had a hard time finding a good fit with enough support. Back then my weight bounced between 200-210 Lbs I had runners knee, shin splints and tended to rolled my ankles, I used to run a 5K in just under 22 minutes. In addition to having a heavy weight I have flat feet. I want to get back into running and I am slowly progressing, one thing that discouraged me was (and I emphasize was) my knee pain . Currently I am 235 Lbs and these shoes have restored my optimism in running. I do not use runners tape or knee braces. I will more than likely purchase 3-5 more pairs and hide them away in my closet just in case.
