I've ran with Nike LunaEclipse then LunaGlide for over 5 years. I find with each year's new model, their shoes is less and less comfortable, and I slowly have issues with my right foot, so I've been on a mission to find a replacement brand/model.
I decided to give On a try, after trying them at the Vancouver Marathon's expo.To be very honest, it was the aesthetic that caught my attention at first (yes, a bit shallow), but after reading many reviews, seems like it's worth to give it a try. I really like how it's made compare to some bigger brand, and doesn't look as "massive produce". Seems like there were more care in manufacturing the shoes.
I just tested it on my 33km run yesterday, and despite testing it on a long run, my legs and feet felt great. My right foot didn't feel tight at all, compare to the LunaGlide 8. Half way through my run, it started raining pretty hard, and the shoes resisted water quite well. I wouldn't go as far as saying it felt like I was running on clouds, but the foam were very comfortable, more so than other runners I've tried.
Two things I don't like about the shoes: the shoe laces are very good; however, due to the thickness, I find it very hard to tie them tight. I also have relatively small feet, and I really hope they make the shoes one size smaller as I think they will fit better.
Otherwise, I'm happy to have switched to On.
I was needing to get a new pair of shoes with a more aggressive platform. these shoes fit the bill perfect and went on a 6 mile run right out of the box with 0 hot spots or any discomfort. i always ran in very squishy shoes to help with some joint pain. but these offer great support and responsiveness and had zero joint paint the next day! I highly recommend these to any runner. already have converted a few of my friends!
This is the 2nd pair of On's I have owned, and the Cloudflow shoes are amazing. The cushion, response, and fit are just perfect even straight out of the box. These shoes do not look like they are as light as they actually are but they are extremely lightweight.
Voted best overall Marathon shoe (9/10)
