Cushion & Support
the best shoes i have had.
I got these shoes as my normal ONs were not in stock. I got to say the cushioning is superb, and for me and a rolling knee due to an old injury, these Cloudace shoes kept me very stable whilst not feeling that lump underfoot from other stability shoes.
On landing, the shoes felt great underfoot and very cushioned. Im a big guy 105kg, but I felt nimble and light on my feet with these on.
I was a bit worried the shoes would be hot, as the mesh looked tight and the toe area very solid, but to my surprise, running in Spain on a 70.3 Ironman Triathlon I didn't feel hot footed at all.
Id say the construction of these shoes are great, and a lot more durable than some of the other ONs I've had in the past. The plus for me is the comfort...very nice to wear and stable.
Purchased the ace after the flyer was not providing enough support and shock absorption after the 20+km. Have run a 5 and 13km and forgot about the change of shoes after first few seconds of running- a good thing as obviously weren’t noticeably heavier and the rocker motion didn’t significantly alter my running style. I have weighed my flyer against the ace (W6/EU 37) and they are only 58g heavier, worth it for the additional supper and comfort offered. Speedboard and heal cup feels firm but comfortable and toe box is more roomy with no chaffing on my little toes I was experiencing with flyer - despite same cut to flyer toe box - possibly because the shoe is more stable and foot rolling motion / friction is reduced.
