Thanks to its patented CloudTec® system, the 13 “Clouds” close and lock for a natural transition for a faster take-off. It all adds up to you spending more time in the air. And even if you are not focused on speed, time will fly by faster with the Cloudsurfer at your feet.
The Cloudsurfer brings together what normal running shoes don't: the soft landing of a training shoe with the dynamic kick of a rapid competitive shoe. Making the Cloudsurfer the ideal companion for traning and racing. “The adaptive sole balances every pace and truly trains the running muscles,” explains Olivier Bernhard, the multiple Ironman champion and co-founder of On. “The Cloudsurfer really does encourage its wearer to adopt a more efficient running style and greater body stability.”
“The On is the fastest running shoe I have ever tried. Its 3D cushioning turns long runs into short ones. It’s light, comfortable and fast” says the marathon legend and UN ambassador for Sports and Peace, Tegla Loroupe. With world records in 20, 25 and 30 kilometres as well as winner of marathons such as New York, Berlin, Rotterdam and London, Tegla is one of the most inspiring persons in the world of running.
A good shoe for recovery runs. I suffered a broken tibia that required surgery / a plate and screws. It was a long recovery to get back to a decent pre-injury level and have to say that the Cloudsurfer was a big part of my recovery as it was my go-to shoe. It offers a very soft ride and great fit. I liked it so much that I included a pair of cloudflyer's and cloudcruiser into my rotation once I was able to introduce speed and distance to my training.
I still keep the Cloudsurfer in my rotation but definitely not a racing shoe as it is too heavy. Additionally, I tend to sweat alot during the hotter months so I had to limit these shoes to no more than 1 hour of running as the soles soaked up the perspiration like a sponge making them that much more heavier. In a perfect world, ON Running will make this shoe lighter and find a way to better dissipate the sweat that collects in the sponge-like material.
Overall, a solid shoe for recovery runs.
Good choice :-)
Back in 2012, I came across an article in ESPN the Magazine for a new type of running shoe that was popular among triathletes. The design was peculiar to me, and seeing as how I was yet to find a shoe I loved, I decided to give it a try. I believe I originally ordered the Cloudrunner, and I could not have been happier with my purchase. I decided to try the Cloudsurfer as my next purchase, and I have never looked back. The responsiveness this shoe has is unlike anything I have ever experienced before. I am not one that usually buys into taglines, but you truly feel as if you're running on air in these shoes. The changes they have made in the Gen 2 Cloudsurfer have elevated this shoe higher than I ever thought possible. If you want a shoe that is lightweight, responsive, and flashy, look no further than the On Cloudsurfer.
