Testing for trails
The Cloudventure Peak were my first pair of On trainers that I had tried. I was given the opportunity to try On shoes at an event organised by my local running store "Run Active" in Chelmsford and had never taken the chance to try On before this date, this was because they always looked so different to other shoes and I did not want to take the risk of buying a new product which I did not get on with. the running event was therefore a great opportunity for me to run in On and test them out to see how they responded to my running style. I ran 5k in a pair at various pacing and was taken by how responsive they felt. I purchased a pair of Cloudventrue Peak to test and wore them for a 24 hour trail relay event the next weekend.
I found these shoes very light, responsive and supportive for my runs and have since logged around 60k in them in only 2 weeks. Despite their weight they have protected my feet well and the toe box was strong enough to prevent foot damage when I tripped on a rock while running. So far they are also wearing well and look like they have never ben worn on the tread, I am hoping to get my usual mileage out of these shoes as I am quite a light footed runner and so far they are holding up to expectations.
I am now training for a 32 mile trail ultra in August 2018 and plan to use these shoes for my run as I feel they will offer all I need for this distance.
