Q&A with Camille Deligny

How did you start running? I first walked, longer and longer, then it was not enough. I felt the need to run, naturally.

Why do you run now? This is a question I still ask myself, but to make it simple I think I run to feel alive.

What has been the most important race you’ve run to date? The Embrunman Ironman marathon, for it was an incredible sensation all along the race. I enjoyed every moment of this marathon. People screamed my name – it was like I was on another planet! These are feelings you do not forget!

What is your pre-race ritual? Before every race I write on my hand.

What do you think about while running?

Everything and nothing, when I run my mind is free…

What is your go-to training meal? A buckwheat porridge with fruits, nuts and cinnamon.

What song is your go to for the run? “The eye of the tiger”.

Who is your “team”? My team is my coach who is also my boyfriend - this is my team!

What is your passion next to endurance sports? I practice Yoga. I love to spend time outside, I like to create, draw and design clothes (fashion was actually my first job).

Who would you be if you weren’t a professional athlete? Maybe a shepherd. I would like to do something that requires being in touch with the outside.

What does no one tell you about being a professional athlete? Everything! I knew nothing at all, I had everything to learn when I started!

What was the best piece of running advice you ever received? Take your time!

What advice do you have for someone who wants to follow in your footsteps?

Work hard to achieve your dreams and be patient! If you want to progress, it's so much more than just training, it's a lifestyle.

Why On? The day I tested a pair of On shoes, I was stunned, I adopted them immediately, I found nowhere else these sensations!
