Separated by a central channel, the CloudTec® sole responds to your individual gait. The Cloud elements are affixed directly to a semi-transparent Speedboard allowing each Cloud element to move individually.
The Cloud is the lightest fully cushioned performance running shoe in the world. Designed for runners who want a minimal running shoe with maximum cushioning. Built from Zero-Gravity foam, the Cloud weighs less than 200 grams, making it a perfect lightweight performer.
The CloudTec® sole is formed from a super-light, flexible and responsive Zero-Gravity EVA foam. Additionally, the deepflex grooves provide a natural range of motion and extreme flexibility.
Forget about lacing up your running shoes: The On Cloud features an easy-entry lacing system that can be adapted to your foot. A conventional lace comes with every Cloud for tighter lacing.

Right from the start, Swiss Olympic Gold medalist Nicola Spirig made the Cloud her shoe of choice: “I even realized a new personal best in my first race after the Olympics with the Cloud”. At the 2014 European Athletics Championships in Zurich, Nicola set her new personal record at the marathon distance with 2:37:12. But that wasn’t enough. In December 2014, she entered new territory: She laced up her Cloud for her first Ironman race in Cozumel, Mexico - and won the race running the 41.2 kilometers in 3:06:19 - after a 3.8 kilometer swim and a 180 kilometer bike ride.
In 2015 the Cloud was awarded the prestigious Gold Award at ISPO, the international sporting goods trade fair, as the 2015 best performance running shoe. "The Cloud from the young Swiss running shoe brand On attracts runners and athletes of all endurance sports. It is a lightweight training shoe, yet it provides comfortable cushioning through the special cushioning system of the midsole and outsole construction. The stylish upper material is very breathable and a true design statement for running shoes”. Urs Weber, from Runner’s World and in the ISPO-Jury
This is my third pair of On shoes (also have the Cloudsurfer and Cloudster) and it is definitely my favourite. Excellent for a fast 5K, so light. Take a couple of run to break them in, but after that it is just so smooth. My pair came with a slight defect, but On excellent customer service quickly sorted that out. I have cleared out all my other running shoes from the rack and the only shoes there now are all On shoes. Just love this brand.
As a disabled American Army combat veteran, the right shoes are my Best Friend. There is no doubt that these shoes beat any other shoe that I've ever tried, and I've tried them all. Due to injuries, etc., I am no longer a runner, but I do log more miles than just about any Ultra Runner that I know or have seen in magazines. That means many long hours on my feet.
My only negative comment is that the pair that I started using in JUN2015 only last until JUL2015. They only had about 147 miles on them and literally disintegrated. Perhaps it was a combination of body mass, hot Dallas summer roads and sidewalks, AND ESPECIALLY all of the debris that gets caught in those channels! I am a heel-strike walker and speed walker, and 2 miles out on their "final" outing, these shoes literally blew out both heels and the left one took a rock through the sole and into my foot. I've never seen any shoe come apart so quickly under what I consider gentle use. In comparison, I have a pair of Cloudsurfers that I purchased about 3 years ago. Those shoes look a bit dusty from from the road, but when you look at the soles, they look like they've hardly been used... when in fact, they have well over 900 miles on them. Yes, that's longer than the shelf life and mileage life, yet their ride is as good as it ever was and that's a testament to ON engineering.
I switched to the Cloud because of the lower offset, weight, etc. and after trying it for the first time, they were the shoes that my feet fell in love with and hurt the least from wearing.
I still walk some half marathons and Ultras, but mostly the walking is for me and my health. When I'm racing, I'm competing against my disabilities, not the clock or any other runner. I'm simply trying to regain that feeling that every runner loves when it's just you and tranquility moving through the clouds... on my Cloud.
Not only do these trainers feel great they look cool. Everyone says they look great and want to know where I got them. No need to say more.
