Inspired to travel to India by a bank manager using his position to bring about social change, the documentarian Andrew Hinton kept returning to find stories and people who inspired him. He spent 18 days living on a train to document the Jagriti Yatra and met a paperboy in Jamshedpur who he followed for a day, creating a short film which won a Vimeo Documentary Award. Hinton's best-known work is Tashi and the Monk. The story of a new arrival at a remote children’s community in the foothills of the Himalayas won an Emmy for Outstanding Short Documentary.
