I have run in many different shoes over the years but these are my favourite by far. Very light and a great fit. I did find they fit a little long and I ended up needed a half size smaller than usual. I have only run in them a half dozen times but have had no issues at all with break in.
To start off, I am 30 years old, 6'3" tall, 245 lbs, size 14 to 15 shoe, very low arches. I've been in the Army for the past 12 years and I have tried every shoe out there. I have had the wrong shoes give me plantar fasciitis and other brands would have a great shoe, and then it would just disappear. So I was recommended to try these by a fellow soldier and just wow. They feel like a sock, run like my minimalist shoes, AND I have stability support. I feel great running in these shoes and look forward to buying my second pair!
I moved up a model from the regular Cloud shoes into the Cloudsurfer after a month of usage because I had problems with comfort. Boy the difference in comfort was like night and day. The Cloudsurfer has much better quality materials, they felt softer, more supportive, and most of all made my feet and knees feel phenomenal while running. I only ran 29 miles in these shoes before my first full marathon and was able to finish the marathon while not having too many problems. These shoes didn't even need a break-in period in my opinion. I didn't develop any black toe nails like I did from the original Cloud shoes. We will see how these cloud pods hold up as I ramp up more mileage because I'm afraid the cloud pods might break as I saw on a few reviews online.
